Download help
Gnuppy is an unsigned Windows application. Because new releases may not yet have much download reputation, some browsers or Windows may initially describe them as uncommon or unknown. You do not need to disable browser or Windows security.
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome's Downloads list. You can press Ctrl+J.
- Find the Gnuppy EXE you just downloaded from this website.
- If Chrome marks it as suspicious or uncommon, open the options for that download.
- If Chrome offers Check for malware, you can use that scan.
- After Chrome allows the file, the normal EXE will appear in your Downloads folder.
Chrome's own documentation says a “suspicious” download can simply mean an
uncommon or unfamiliar file. Always make sure the file came from
gnuppy.gnutopia.net.

Windows SmartScreen after downloading
Windows may show “Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting.” If you downloaded Gnuppy from this website and have verified the file, choose More info and then Run anyway.
The SHA-256 checksum for the current Gnuppy release is always shown on the
Gnuppy homepage.
Compare the checksum of your downloaded EXE with the value shown there before running it.
